August 2020.
Bored I expect! And possibly more stressed by children, partners, work – or the lack of it.
I don’t think any of us imagined quite what this would be like week after week, month after month, with no apparent end in sight. Even with my medical background, I was very naive in the beginning.
I was quite proud of myself for getting back into yoga, riding my bike, enjoying time outside, working on art and writing projects. That stiff British upper lip has its uses!
I’ve been making planners and notebooks and A Bucket List book, available on Amazon. Click here: Good Omens Press to see them in Amazon UK, and on the image with the covers for Amazon Canada.

Otherwise, type Good Omens Press Our Bucket List into your country’s Amazon and scroll until you find it. they will be there.
There are lots more in the pipeline…
If you let me know your ideal style of planner/diary/notebook +/- your cover idea I could design a bespoke version perfect for you. Wouldn’t that be fun?
And next month, sneak previews of my novel in progress!
But all of the novelty has long since worn off. And the news! Less and less inclined to read it or watch! My solution is listed below! What’s yours?
Essential Information and a bit of fun

Sick of the news but want to stay informed about vaccine progress, Covid spread, masks etc?
Problem solved by the excellent Coronacast put out by the ABC in Australia, with Dr Norman Swann. About 10-15 mins weekdays, it gives you the science and a laugh. Then you don’t have to listen to or watch or read anything else! Also on Spotify.
This guy just makes the most amazing tiny books. I found him on Instagram, and he’s the highlight of my feed.
Have a look and a smile and a better rest of your day courtesy of his talents.
AUGUST BOOKS – ALL ABOUT VERSE
If you thought all poetry was similar, staid or boring, then you are in for a shock or a treat!
Click the banner for quick links to my medical and climate poems, and the covers to see inside the other books.
Enjoy!

Scottish Poetic Treasury contains a selection of poems from the older Scottish poets, who come from varied backgrounds and occupations. These range from the genius of Walter Scott through to ministers, flax-dressers, book-sellers, bakers, farmers and shepherds. They all have in common a love for their own country of Scotland
Kills Poetry is an assorted collection of verse that spans three years. Carrying no blatant theme, this five volume collection services a variety of topics drawn from the author’s life experiences, and wastes no time cutting to the marrow of the human experience. As its name suggests Kills Poetry is gritty, bare, hard-biting free verse that identifies stubborn moments of joy during the best and worst of times.
I would love to hear what coping skills you’ve discovered and helpful hints you have to offer! Until next month, Cassandra If you have been enjoying this art section, I have a new ONLINE ART STORE. Buy originals in a couple of clicks. Free shipping till the end of August. Check it out! |
PS Don’t forget to tell me what your ideal planner/notebook would look be! All ideas welcome!
